All-Pets Hospital is a small animal practice near downtown searching for a reliable and motivated addition to our team. Our mission is to help Des Moines area pets stay happy and healthy, and we need hard-working animal lovers like you to accomplish that.
Position Duties:
- Assisting with patient appointments, surgeries, monitoring anesthesia, x-rays, and lab work
- Restraining animals for routine care
- Maintaining a clean and organized treatment / kennel area
- Working in a fast paced environment and managing emergency situations
- Communicating clearly and politely with clients in-person and on the phone
- Taking direction from doctors and technicians
- Entering medical record information into our digital record keeping system (Impromed Infinity)
- Following all protocols to maintain safe conditions for staff and animals
- Feeding and medicating hospitalized or boarding pets as directed
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs
- Certified technician experience preferred, but not required
- Animal handling experience preferred
- Saturday availability preferred
We are accepting applications from Certified Veterinary Technicians, but also from veterinary students or motivated individuals interested in starting a career in the veterinary field as an assistant. Those with less experience must be ready and willing to learn on-the-job skills.
