Premier Payee is a non-profit organization that provides services and support to individuals with special needs in central Iowa. Premier Payee is currently seeking part-time and full-time outgoing and enthusiastic individuals to support this fast-paced growing business. The ideal candidate will be a good communicator, with an energetic, friendly, positive disposition, who is also reliable and patient.
We have current openings for the following position:
Independent Living Specialist: (FT and PT positions available)
o Provides instruction to individuals with intellectual disabilities, brain injuries, or persistent mental illness
o Plans, teaches, and assists with recreational and leisure-time activities;
o Teaches informal activities to supplement formal activities and training
o Interacts with individuals in services in a friendly, respectful manner.
o Acts as an advocate in a professional manner for those in services.
o Teaches personal hygiene skills as determined by the individuals level of need
o Maintains all applicable records.
o Provides pertinent information regarding consumer needs, activities, and interests.
o Maintains positive, professional relationships with clients, guardians, service coordination, families, supervisors, co-workers, and professionals from other agencies.
o Protects the confidentiality and rights of all individuals served and employed by the agency
INDEPENDENT LIVING SPECIALIST starting wage is between $10/hour and $12.36/hour based on experience.
Primary days of work are Monday through Friday between 7am and 6pm; schedule to be based off caseload needs.
Job Requirements:
Each position minimum requirements are:
Age 19
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Prefer experience in human services and/or working with persons with disabilities
Possess a valid/current drivers license, automobile insurance, and reliable transportation
Background check is required
