Job Title: Program Assistant

Purpose: The Program Assistant will assist in the coordination and administration of Habitat for Humanity of Iowa grants and programs. This included federal and state grant management, recruitment and training of AmeriCorps members, and homebuyer/owner income verification.

Time Commitment: This is a full-time hourly, weekday position.

Location: This position will work in our Pleasant Hill office located at 5191 Maple Dr., Ste. L

Qualifications: Applicant must have a minimum of two years relevant experience. Experience may include a combination of employment, internship and/or significant community service. It is highly preferred that applicants have previous experience in at least one of the following: recruitment, training, or homebuyer/owner income verification. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Applicant must be results driven with the ability to balance multiple tasks at once. Applicant must have sound administrative and organizational skills, with well-developed interpersonal skills - the ability to get along with diverse populations. Applicant must be capable of working independently by being able to research answers to unknown questions. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, successfully pass a criminal history check that includes sex offender registry, state of residency and FBI, and successfully pass a credit background check. Lifting up to 30 lbs may be required. Must have the ability to travel across Iowa by car.

Duties:

• Assist with the following federal/state/other grants and programs:

o AmeriCorps & VISTA: Coordinate the recruitment, orientation, and on-going training for AmeriCorps members. Assist the team with member and host site management.

o HOME, State Housing Trust Fund, Federal Home Loan Bank: Assist the team with income verification of applicants, project budgets, and overall requirements of each program.

o Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI): assist the team with program reports, tracking and monitoring requirements.

• Organize the application process for disaster recovery zones. Currently this includes receiving and processing application for homeowner repair projects affected by the Marshalltown tornado in July 2018. This includes qualifying applicants for loans. Specific training will be provided.

• Assist the Habitat for Humanity of Iowa team with meeting its desired outcomes and goals. This will require flexibility of tasks assigned.

• All other duties assigned

Wage: $16.50 per hour

Benefits: Paid time off, $400 monthly health benefit allowance, 3% IRA Match.
