We are seeking an EmbeddedSoftware Test Engineer to work onsite at John Deeres facility in Dubuque, IA. This is a contingent position forecasted for 3 years. Within this role, you will:Plan and execute embedded software testing on construction and forestry products to verify production readinessAlign software test activities to meet Product Development Process schedules and follow clients embedded software process, using best practices and toolsPlan, develop, coordinate, and perform testing on the bench and machine in alignment with other Product Verification & Validation activities, as well as lead software documentation design reviewsProvide support to update and debug software on test tractorsDevelop setup and scripts for automated testingWork with 3rd party partners in the development and execution software testing, both manual and automaticRequired Skills/Experience:Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical or Software EngineeringEngineering experience gained from projects, internships, or practical work experienceAbility to troubleshoot and identify solutions to technical problemsBasic knowledge and understanding of electrical componentsGood organizational skillsPositive and effective communication and team skillsAdaptability to rapidly changing work environmentsAbility to learn to operate construction and forestry equipment to execute software testsAbility to be self-directed and complete independent tasks efficientlyA strong candidate will also have:Experience with embedded software testing, tools, and processesExperience with data testing, tools, and processesExperience working with suppliers, partners and co-workers in the development of softwareExperience testing supplier softwareAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliersExperience troubleshooting challenging problemsExperience with electrical and electronic controls and componentsBasic knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN) communicationsExperience developing or using National Instruments software test toolsBasic understanding of mechanical, hydrostatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and powertrain systems.
