The University of IowaHospitals and Clinics presents an opportunity for an experienced nurseleader to join our team. We are seeking a full time Assistant Nurse Manager forMain Operating Room CardioThoracic / Vascular (Team 1).
The Assistant Nurse Managerfor the CardioThoracic / Vascular Team (Team 1) will provide managerial and clinicalleadership to assure that all staff provide safe clinical care and have theeducation, methods and resources to accomplish their performance objectives.

Rotations : Day shifts
Applicant selected forposition, if external, must complete a 2-3 week orientation. Monday-Friday 8 : 00AM-4 : 30 PM. Hours may vary based on department needs.

Required Qualifications :
A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is required.
Current license to practice nursing in Iowa is required by date of hire.
One to three years of progressing leadership responsibilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
Proficiency with computer software applications. skill in leadership / management.
Demonstrates time management, organization of workload, delegation, attention to detail and thoroughness.
Collaborates and develops effective interpersonal relationships with nursing staff, medical staff, interdisciplinary teams, and other hospital departments.
Demonstrates effective teaching skills for staff and patient education.
Demonstrates appreciation for diversity with an understanding of benefits of a diverse workforce (stimulation, challenge, and energy that contributes to a productive and effective workplace).
One to three years scrubbing and circulating experience in the Operating Room.
Desired Qualifications :
Leadership and / or manager experience
Experience working in large academic medical center
Experience working in a union environment
Professional certification in nursing field (example : CNOR)
