Job Description

Hagie Manufacturing is seeking a qualified candidate to be part of our Material Flow team as a Operations Project Analyst in Clarion, IA. This position is Responsible to manage and coordinate the successful delivery of strategic Material Flow projects with low complexity and tactical Material Flow Operations projects with high complexity. Utilizes and provides project management expertise to direct multi-disciplined project teams and coordinates interaction with functional disciplines. Establishes priorities and gathers the resources necessary to staff the work teams. Projects typically meet some or all of the following criteria; 5 or fewer persons on the project team; 1 or 2 disciplines involved; 1 or2 departments with the facility involved; scope in dollars is less than $500,000 and is determined on budget,revenues generated, savings, etc.

  • Plans and executes project planning to incorporate and align the task elements of the Material Flow processes into the overall project schedule. Includes acquiring a solid project management discipline and skill foundation to execute the project successfully.
  • Provides day to day work direction and assistance to a group of professional staff, primarily in the context of work needed against project plans. Includes coaching and counseling project team members and develops project management skills in team members.
  • Schedules and tracks progress of all aspects of the project to aggressively work toward successful project completion in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the planning process of Material Flow operational improvement projects, to determine the strategic direction, schedule and method of the project.
  • Schedules and facilitates regular review meetings with the project Champion and Steering Committee. Keeps Steering Committee and Champion informed of project progress and needs. Includes documentation and reporting of all relative activities on a regular basis back to the Steering Committee and Champion.
  • Adheres to existing Material Flow processes, contributes to their improvement, and expects the same of others.
  • Coordinates implementation activities with functional disciplines to plan and implement projects.
  • Develops, tracks, and meets the capital and expense budget, generally at the project level.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of capital budgeting and capital equipment justification process. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Understanding of quality management principles, tools and processes. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Knowledge of process management principles, tools and integration. - Has a good understanding of the principles and can independently use the knowledge.
  • Skill in business plan development.
  • Understanding of Deere Production System, Lean Manufacturing, Just-in- Time, Kanban, Demand Flow Technology. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and/or distribution processes, Enterprise Product Delivery Process(EPDP), Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) and the Deere Production System. - Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others.
  • Previous experience in developing and managing capital and expense budget process. - 1 - 3 years
  • Product or service development process/management experience. - 1 - 3 years
  • Manufacturing and/or operations experience. - 1 - 3 years
  • Cross functional work exp in multiple areas, i.e., accounting, product eng, quality, manufacturing ops, warehousing/ distribution, production employee supervision, supply mgmt, marketing, HR, industrial eng, etc. - Cross functional work experience(s) in two major areas such as: Quality, Manufacturing Operations, Supply Management, Marketing, etc.
  • Project management experience including plan development, budget management, team management, requirements gathering, delivery and deployment. - 1 - 3 years
  • Degree in a Business/Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
  • Degree in a Supply Management discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent
  • Degree in an Accounting/Finance discipline or equivalent experience. - University Degree (4 years or equivalent)
