One of my client companies is seeking a Maintenance Engineer/Manager to oversee 3-4 Maintenance Techs. Must have heavy equipment maintenance (NOT HVAC which is small equipment) and boiler experience.
Maintenance Engineer/Manager - Reports directly to Controller
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
â¢ All maintenance and repair activities for buildings and equipment.
â¢ Janitorial for buildings and equipment.
â¢ Supervision of maintenance, janitorial, and washroom employees.
â¢ Wastewater treatment, equipment and personnel.
â¢ Safety Director
â¢ Order and maintain inventory of parts and supplies.
â¢ Oversee the maintenance of vehicles.
All Maint. And Repair Activities for Building and Equipment
â¢ Increase utilization of Maint software.
â¢ Track PM's and work orders.
â¢ Generate reports to Mgmt showing results of these activities.
â¢ Update info on equipment and buildings on a regular basis.
â¢ Strive to have each task on a WO and have PM for all activities.
â¢ Close out PM's and WO's in a timely fashion.
â¢ Evaluate Maintenance Personnel on a regular basis to keep them on track.
â¢ Set Goals for these areas and communicate them to management and employees.
â¢ Strive to Repair machinery BEFORE it breaks down.
â¢ Monitor machines for maximum efficiency.
â¢ Consult and assist with PIMS system.
Janitorial for All Buildings and Equipment
â¢ Keep plant, equipment, and offices clean.
â¢ Communicate with janitorial personnel DAILY.
â¢ Set daily, weekly, and monthly objectives for janitorial personnel.
â¢ Evaluate cleanliness on a regular basis. Communicate findings to management and janitorial personnel.
â¢ All restrooms to remain spotlessly clean.
â¢ Oversee truck washing. All trucks to be washed AT LEAST once per week.
Supervision of Maintenance and Janitorial Personnel
â¢ Complete performance evaluations on all personnel at least once per year.
â¢ Communicate daily with all personnel regarding schedules and duties
â¢ Constantly insure that all personnel know what they should be doing and evaluate results of those activities regularly.
â¢ Supervise all testing to insure compliance and accuracy.
â¢ Keep abreast of new developments and technologies.
â¢ Work closely with chemical provider.
â¢ Regularly give reports to management regarding treatment quality and efficiency.
â¢ Work to insure compliance with OSHA, ADA, EPA and other Gov't Agencies rules and regulations.
â¢ Keep all paperwork up to date (ie. MSDS sheets).
â¢ Oversee all safety training.
â¢ Make recommendations regarding safety training and practices.
â¢ Investigate safety violations, accidents, and concerns.
â¢ Prevention of accidents is a top priority.
Order and Maintain Inventory of Parts and Supplies
â¢ Maintain inventory on computer via various spreadsheets.
â¢ Regular reports to management regarding status of inventories.
â¢ Regularly evaluate parts/supplies on hand as to whether more or less is needed.
â¢ Make recommendation to management regarding purchase of high cost parts, etc.
â¢ Whenever possible make sure we have backups for each critical piece of equipment. (Critical = can't operate without it)
P & L Responsibilities
â¢ Develop budget for and manage to meet that budget for the following accounts/categories:
o Washing Supplies
o Water, Sewer, Softener
o Sewage Chemicals
o Power Plant Expense category
o Property Repairs & Maintenance
o Repairs & Maintenance Building
o Machinery Expense category
o Supplies & Expenses -Indirect
o Safety Expense
â¢ Participate in financial review meetings.
â¢ Oversee vehicle maintenance.
â¢ Assist in purchasing new vehicles.
â¢ Evaluate individual vehicles.
â¢ Track expenses by vehicle.
All other Activities as Directed by Upper Management
