We are seeking a Tool Designer to work onsite at John Deeres facility in Waterloo, IA. This is a contingent position forecasted for 2 years. Within this role, you will:Plan, coordinate and perform designs for complex components and assemblies using the preferred 3-Dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool and protocolsExhibit detailed knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards and can apply it to many varied situationsPerform as an expert user of 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) systems with considerable experience in Top Down design work for complex 3D engineering models and componentsMay provide document maintenance and have responsibility for placement and routing of electronic circuitsMay create Printed Circuit Board (PCB) fabrication drawings, plan PCB projects and create electronic schematic diagramsProvide modeling leadership and counsel to other employeesRequired Skills:Bachelors degree in an Engineering/Technology discipline or equivalent experience.5+ years of experience in tool design, with experience in one or more of the following tooling areas: assembly, gage, machining, special machinesExcellent working knowledge of 3D Parametric CAD, preferably CreoAbility to complete the design and detailing of a tool/fixture in Creo by following written and/or verbal descriptions and/or hand sketchesExcellent knowledge of manufacturing processes used in the manufacture of tools/fixtures and supporting componentsExcellent knowledge of materials used in the manufacture of tools/fixtures and supporting componentsWorking knowledge of hydraulics and pneumaticsAbility to solve complex issues related to toolingAbility to use of Microsoft Word/Excel for daily tasksAbility to work overtime, as required This position is located in Waterloo, IA.
