Volt is looking for a Instrumentation Engineer to work on-site with our customer John Deere in Waterloo, IA on contingent assignment forecasted for 2 years. I n this assignment the employee will be responsible for supporting test data acquisition (DAQ) and control software solutions throughout a tractor test lab. These duties include:Create and modify DAQ and control software solutions for tests, including PLCs, iTest, MTS, and DEWESoftSupport and troubleshoot control code and software solutions in test baysUpdate software versionsSupport and troubleshoot test bay network & CAN communications systems in test baysSupport DAQ hardware with updates and troubleshootingAssist commissioning of new test cellsInstall computer hardware, including Ethernet, Serial, video cardsTroubleshoot wiring issuesAssist in setup of new sensors, including pressure transducers, flowmeters, torque meters, accelerometersDocumentation, including AutoCAD drawings, test cell procedures, calibration information, and asset trackingTraining assistanceRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science; MIS; Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, or Agricultural Engineering. Other four-year degree with equivalent experience will be considered.Computer programming experience preferred.Excellent troubleshooting skillsExperience with measurement and control techniques and technologiesKnowledge of CAN communication protocolsExperience with computer systems, networking, and MS Office softwareFamiliarity with Agricultural equipment and applicationsManager is open to recent grad candidates.Will need metatarsals for first day.This position is subject to US Export Controls.
