DescriptionA premier company is looking to fill a Senior Financial Analyst position for a long-term temporary project. A primary point of contact for all financial issues, the Senior Financial Analyst consultant will handle project spending, planning, forecasting, and annual budgeting. In order to provide decision-making support for future company investments, you will also perform analysis of the operating results and financial performance of core business segments in accordance with public reporting requirements. This Senior Financial Analyst position is located in West Des Moines, Iowa.Your responsibilities in this role
Team closely with Functional leads by executing management reporting, advising in accounting and compliance, and ensuring operational initiatives are in alignment with each other
Evaluate financial results, summarize key trends, assess current and future business risks, and communicate critical updates all in the course of preparing monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership
Influence the accuracy and discretion of tracked financial results with Operations and Accounting in order to drive improved management reporting
Make business, operational, and financial processes to be shared, understood, and repeated by relevant teams
Handle ad-hoc analysis and presentation requests
Manage advantageous relationships with Finance/Accounting leadership of integral business partners
Advance existing management reporting - analyze financial results, distill and synthesize key issues, communicate integral updates to senior management
Grow business performance by identifying and executing financial analysis
Requirements
High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Ability to work cross functionally and influence appropriately
Strong problem-solving skills
Efficient with process reengineering and optimization
A strong ability to work with office systems, reporting software, databases and other BI tools recommended
CPA or MBA preferred
Investment operations experience desired
Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing
Applicants are required to hold a Finance, Business, or related field BA/BS degree
Ability to apply critical thinking and critical decision making skills with management
Highly skilled with Microsoft PowerPoint
