Hardware Design Engineer, you will be using your solid knowledge of hardware circuit design, best practices to lead the hardware development for various high-tech radar sensors.

This position reports to: Director of Engineering

Location: On site in Lawrence, KS (38m to KC metro)

  • Successful candidates will have the following experience:
  • MS or BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant area
  • 5+ years of experience as a Hardware Engineer or Lead Hardware Engineer
  • 2+ years' experience of working on a Product Manager or an Associate Product Manager
  • Significant experience of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
  • Significant experience of developing product and marketing strategies and effectively communicating recommendations to executive management
  • Excellent understanding of software development and web technologies
  • Strong problem solving skills and high responsibility
  • Strong ability of working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
As a Technical Product Manager your responsibilities will include:
  • Identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth
  • Research, understand and analyze customer needs and expectations
  • Develop buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
  • Review and update product pricing and positioning strategies
  • Prepare detailed product requirements and prototypes, based on the product strategy
  • Review and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Organize product launches including working with public relations team, executives, and other product management team members
  • Analyze promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Build relations with customers to solicit feedback on company products and services
  • Lead the efforts to design new products and maintain digital and RF PCBAs, components, and interconnects.
  • Manage the hardware design process, recommend EDA tools, and monitor the efficient deployment of new technologies and systems.
  • Analyze product performance and component prices to ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Lead the certification efforts for FCC, CE, ISO, UL, or other compliance testing efforts
  • Coordinate with product development teams to incorporate best practice Design for Testability (DFT) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) methods into each design.
  • Develop a test strategy for products (subsystems and systems) to ensure viability with expected product cost and volumes. Communicate any findings to the larger design team and management and work on cost-down projects as required.
  • Prepare reports for product deployment schedules and provide recommendations to Engineering management for review and approval.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design teams such as mechanical, algorithm, and software.
  • Provide training to junior engineers and supervise other hardware design work to ensure compatibility, reliability, and adherence to Ainstein hardware design practices.
