This role is responsible for the facility including operation, maintenance and protection of the facility and it's equipment used to produce a product or provide a service. Responsibilities include operation of facilities and systems, environmental controls, security and fire protection, production processes and equipment, energy management and building control, administration, supervision, organization, planning, and budgeting as required by facilities operations or the facility leader.
Accountabilities:
Performs facilities maintenance, including administration, layout, utilities operations, building and grounds, plant protection and security, equipment maintenance, environmental controls and safety.
Maintains all utilities systems for electricity, water, steam, gas, oil, compressed air, communications and data networks.
Oversees installation and maintenance of all heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Assists in the formulation of emergency response and recovery plans and takes corrective action, where required.
Verifies personnel are appropriately licensed, registered or certified, as necessary
May perform building maintenance in one or more facilities
Responsible for the installation, relocation, modification and maintenance of equipment and systems.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, statutes and codes, securing all required permits and coordination/liaison with local authorities. Conducts necessary checks, inspections, surveys and investigations to assure required standards are met.
Contracts with and oversees the activities of various contractors and vendors for the fulfillment of building engineering responsibilities
Works with other departments regarding the maintenance of all real property, production equipment, utilities services and communication services
Maintains and administers a building operations budget and records of planning and current maintenance contracts
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
3-5 years of experience in building equipment maintenance and repair, regulatory maintenance, building and grounds maintenance
Ability to work with all levels of employees, external contractors and regulatory authorities.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
An understanding of service provider contract negotiations and management as they relate to facilities projects.
Collaborative / Partnering skills to business.
Business acumen / Creative thinking related to facilities operations.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, value engineer and meet deadlines required.

Associates (or certificate)
HVAC Certifications
Boiler License
Master Electrician
