Description
POOCH is looking for a passionate and driven community outreach assistant to help with achieving our organizing goals! At the Spring All Member Meeting, POOCH set the community priorities of fighting the unchecked greed of landlords, organizing renters for better housing conditions, and combating hunger in Lawrence. Applicant must be willing to move into one of the three POOCH co-ops to be considered for the position. Pay starting at $15.00 an hour, approximately 8 hours of work per week is expected.

Qualifications
Social media maven (portfolio preferred)
Familiarity with and passion for community organizing
Can use Google Suite to include Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Slides
Organized and self sufficient
Excellent interpersonal skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Responsibilities
Community Organizing (60%)
Develop strategies to achieve organizing objectives with
Director of Operations
Attend and represent POOCH at miscellaneous community meetings and canvassings
Keep accurate Google Calendar of upcoming POOCH and community events
Assist with the development of in-house leadership on issues relevant to POOCH members
Social Media and Event Outreach (20%)
Assist with building social media profile of POOCH
Attend POOCH events to document and share co-op life
Tabling at community events to raise community awareness of POOCH
Misc. (20%)
Attend weekly staff meetings
Attend monthly board meetings
