Randstad Technologies is seeking an experienced Java Application Developer III for an exciting opportunity in Lenexa, KS. This position will be responsible for working with clients, vendors, users, and IS team members on projects to understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality solutions that align with business and IT strategies are in compliance with the organization's architectural standards. They will provide support in the full systems life cycle for multiple applications to ensure application software is delivered on time and within budget.

responsibilities:

• Perform and excel at duties of Application Developer I and II.
• May work on both projects and break/fix tickets. Assignments may be solo or as part of a project team.
• Create high-quality designs, source code, and unit tests within the guidelines and standards of the company, utilizing industry best practices.
• Justify decisions and achieve peer consent.
• Gather and verify technical requirements.
• Author and audit technical designs for features and modules.
• Iterate and improve upon stable domain technology.
• Identify feature and module dependencies and critical path. Propose mitigation plans for identified risks and problems.
• Define implementation plans for assigned work that include schedule, priorities, dependencies, risks, and deliverables.
• Review the artifacts, designs and code of others.
• Lead team initiatives on projects.
• Test, inspect outputs, and apply quality checks prior to work submission.
• Recommend and implement new practices when original approach and assumptions are no longer valid.
• Keep informed of business operations and the impact of solutions on the operations.
• Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all company's subsidiaries, legal entities and client information.
• Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years of experience in industry technologies (Java 8, 11, AWS (or other cloud technology), Spring, BootJS required
• 5 years of experience in database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, NoSQL)
• This person must be able to design and develop applications independently
• Must possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to communicate effectively.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to "own" a feature or module within a system
• Knowledge of frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, iBatis, Junit, Jquery, ASP.Net and Django)
• strong understanding of network protocols and web technologies (TCP/IP, HTTP, JavaScript, AJAX); knowledge of XML, JSON and other data transport protocols
• Demonstrated experience in front-end and JavaScript development tools (HTML5, CSS, Node JS, Angular JS, Backbone JS, and Jquery Mobile etc.)
• Demonstrated competence in programming and debugging across multiple modules and dealing with related external dependencies; demonstrated understanding of the SDLC and required deliverables.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written), and relationship management skills - able to work effectively with partners/users in the business and within the IS team at a variety of levels and technical ability
• strong customer service orientation and analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to work without requiring direct supervison
• Ability to organize work to meet deadlines and multiple requests; ability to adapt quickly to change
• Ability to be at work and on time
• Ability and judgment to interact and communicate appropriately with other employees, clients and management

• Ability to operate a PC and communications equipment.

OTHER: Flexible work schedule; work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, may be required; this is an on-call position requiring use of wireless phone for after-hours contact.
