This is a 3-6 month contract for hire role that will sit onsite in Overland Park, KS.
Role and Responsibilities
The IT Desktop Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to all organizational hardware, software (proprietary and purchased) and peripheral equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance and excellent customer service. Additionally, the role works across a broad range of technologies and liaises across multiple areas of the business to support incidents, requests, problems, IT asset management lifecycle and Organizational projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provides support of end users, hardware, software, and peripheral equipment (laptops, desktops, printers, mobile device management, etc.)
· Provides advice and assistance to end users on the effective utilization of desktop applications
· Perform hardware, software, and consumables inventory/asset management to include all phases of lifecycle (purchase, prep, deployment, upgrades, maintenance, decommission, recycle)
· Serves as liaison/trainer between outsource Client Support Center (L1) to ensure SLAs are being met and performs L2 troubleshooting for incidents received by CSC
· Installs and upgrades organizations computing devices, IOT, voice devices and associated equipment
· Assists IT Operations in testing of hardware and/or software the Organization is considering using as well as software products in development
· Interact with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software
· Maintain technical documentation and service catalog on installation of software, configuration of hardware and problem troubleshooting
· Works projects and/or project tasks as requested; analyze and interpret results, ensure updates are being completed accurately and timely
· Mentor junior team members
· Solves problems in straightforward to complex situations; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises independent judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
· Explains difficult/complex information to others in straightforward situations; asks questions and checks for understand where appropriate; works to build consensus and negotiates with others to adopt a different point of view
· Assist in monitoring compliance with information security policies, procedures, standards and security measures, reporting instances of non-compliance to Security Management
