Job Duties :
The Lead Electrical Engineer will serve as a technical and strategic leader for emerging weapons programs. This role
will provide technical guidance and direction for assigned products and will work within the business unit to mentor and develop engineers in the practices and principles of the KCNSC mission, helping to take product through the development life-cycle into production.
Responsibilities will include :
Work throughout the business to establish and maintain engineering and project management best practices
Mature business unit knowledge and practices to ensure successful execution of an emerging program through
different phases of development and production
Influence strategic planning for technical projects of major scope and complexity that significantly impact the business
Lead, direct, influence and / or coordinate the work of major projects with responsibility for project objectives,
completion dates, and technical specifications
Provide regular project status updates for customer and management review
Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments
Evaluates opportunities for defect prevention
Lead to ensure execution of all activities required to meet design and manufacturing objectives
Lead formulation of solutions to assigned hardware and / or system design problems
Participate heavily with the DA partners in design for manufacturing and inspection
Write, maintain, and modify specifications and test procedures
Stays current with relevant emerging technology and business trends
Uses knowledge to evaluate and prioritize business opportunities
You Must Have :
US citizenship, needed to obtain and maintain required US government security clearance.
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
Seven (7) or more years of experience in Engineering, including application of advanced engineering principles and technology related to highly complex technical assignments

Demonstrated background in stockpile weapon component function, processes, and procedures
Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Skilled at interaction with all levels of management and outside entities
Well established knowledge and applied understanding of FM&T engineering business and technology processes and applications
Experience with entire product life cycle
