Our client seeks an Senior Software Developer to work in its Investments/Derivatives Department. As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for engaging with technical and business stakeholders to understand business needs and guide the overall direction of Derivatives applications through application development, data management, process automation and support activities. The ideal candidate for this role not only is able to produce high quality work quickly, but also serves as a resource to their peers around them and provides mentoring whenever possible.


Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain complex front-ends in-house built applications and tools that streamline development and support processes and troubleshoot the issues by debugging the application code, reproduce the issues and provide solutions focused on user experience
Develop and maintain back-end systems
Leads code reviews and mentor junior team members
Provide compassionate technical mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to encourage the growth of others
Implement moderate to high complexity code changes that resolve root causes of incidents or enhance operational characteristics (resilience, scalability, etc.) to applications that support business operations and client activity
Deliver complex code/features with quality and supportability
Provide application support for traders, middle office on the trading floor
Support software releases, configuration, monitoring all production system components and infrastructure and ensure that production changes follow change management best practices
Position being on the main trading floor, extensive interaction is expected with traders, developers, quants and middle office professionals to support their ad-hoc requests
Take ownership of the production environment and be accountable for analyzing the issues and work with developers to fix the problem and migrate the respective changes to the production
Understand application security and change management guidelines and maintain appropriate controls are implemented and followed
Responsible for communication of upcoming releases, project deliveries, market events, production status, system outages, infrastructure / disaster maintenance and business continuity tests
Responsible for working with internal/external audit and provide evidences for production changes and migration
Coordinate with external teams for organization level IT changes such as IT, and other Investment technology teams
Understand and gain expert knowledge on applications and play SME role
Other projects as assigned to further enhance and automate the Derivatives Systems and operations


Job Qualifications:
Bachelors or Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, Information systems or related concentration.
5+ years' experience in software analysis, programming and support
Demonstrated experience and good hands on programming experience in any one of the programming languages like C# .NETor Python and Angular
Knowledge in SQL queries and databases such as SQL Server, Oracle
Experience in working with AWS Services
Strong background in any one programming language such as C#, Java, Python, R, Typescript (Angular)
Familiarity with performance tuning applications, writing tests cases for web, desktop and database programs, optimize database query performance
Should be flexible and willing to work across this delivery landscape which includes and not limited to Applications Development, Support and Deployment
Comfortable working in Windows Operating system and exposure to Linux operating systems and scripting
Ability to be flexible and participate in an on-call program to support critical applications
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
