Kforce has a client in Bardstown, KY that is seeking a Business Initiatives Project Manager.
In this role, the Business Initiatives Project Manager will work with team members from one (or more) business functions to organize, plan, and track transformational projects. These projects will be strategic level efforts designed to improve the operations and effectiveness of the function and the company overall. The Business Initiatives Project Manager will provide project management for a series of projects planned throughout the year, and will also help manage the roadmap and calendar of these initiatives and ensure consistent execution of each. This person will use an Agile-style management approach and will track progress of the projects and the overall portfolio in an Agile-based tool set.
A secondary responsibility will be tracking of projects within the function but not directly managed by this individual. These projects will be smaller in nature and will generally not have a PM associated with them. Tracking them along with the projects being directly managed to form a progress view across the overall function's portfolio is the goal.
Specific responsibilities include:
Plan, track, and manage project timelines, milestones, and critical paths to ensure on time delivery and quality
Assist the projects' business leader in other project management functions such as detailed project budget and spend
Maintain the project management toolset with up-to-date status for directly managed and non-managed projects
Ensure effective change management throughout the course of the managed projects
Identify, manage, and drive mitigation of project risks for managed projects
Liaison between any external project partners and the internal project team
Collect and/or assist in preparation, organization, and maintenance of project documentation
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum of 3 years of successful project management experience balancing multiple projects while maintaining keen attention to detail
Experience with project planning tools (Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, etc.)
Familiarity with an Agile development approach
Capability to build and maintain cross-functional relationships with internal and external resources, lead a cross-functional team of leaders and peers and navigate complex organizational structures to deliver business results
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to gather relevant data and information, actively listen, dialogue freely, verbalize ideas effectively, and deliver presentations to senior leadership and external leaders
Strong project management, process, and interpersonal skills, including leading and prioritizing multiple responsibilities to achieve strategic objectives
Preferred additional qualifications:
PMP or equivalent certification
Human Resources or Finance background
