Position Summary: The Finishing (Slitter) Operator responsibilities include slitting and or rewinding of finished rolls of labels to width and number of labels per customer specifications, meeting safety, production and quality standards and interacting with other departments to achieve company core strategies.Responsibilities:Completes required documentation in an accurate and prompt manner.Slits and/or rewinds finished rolls of labels to width and number of labels per customer specifications.Monitors roll profile.Mounts rolls onto slitter machine; performs in-process inspection; segregates defects and labels.Rewinds finished rolls of labels after slitting process.Measures and cuts cores to required dimensions.Assists in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments. Performs preventative maintenance as required.Complies with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations (IE: BRC, GMPs, HACCP) as applicable.Interacts and behaves professionally. Treats all associates respectfully and professionally while maintaining company code of ethics.Maintains daily housekeeping efforts which may include painting and cleaning of facility (interior and exterior).Qualifications:High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Other considerations:Fort Dearborn offers a competitive wage and generous benefits package including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance and 401(k).Fort Dearborn welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
