Working as an Emergency Response/HAZMAT Manager comes with a lot of responsibility. As a result, we are looking to hire people who possess strong knowledge of hazmat, and emergency response procedures and who have exceptional leadership qualities. Managers often have to work in extreme conditions, and need to possess exceptional time management skills and be able to work towards tight deadlines. Being on-call 24/7 365 days a year is mission critical. Position comes with a base salary plus commissions.

Ideal candidates will have 3 years of HAZMAT experience with excellent references and the demonstrated ability to perform the following daily functions:

- Ensure Health and Safety of the workforce

- Demonstrate a working knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental regulations/laws

- Be able to set and carry out goals

- Ensure the proper staffing of response team(s), and lead employees by example

- Effectively communicate with personnel and clientele

- Be able to assist in providing solutions to complex situations

- Evaluate, inspect, and maintain equipment necessary for duties

- Perform, complete and or oversee internal company documentation as well as project documentation

- Handle onsite emergencies and cleanups in a proactive manner

- Execute load swaps and fuel transfers

- Conduct truck inspections and review onboard documentation to validate current status and functionality

- Hot and cold tanker tapping in emergency situations

- Oversee operation and resolve issues pertinent to efficiency and damage control

- Perform pressure washing and cleanup of hazardous and nonhazardous material from roadways, nature, facilities, and fleet vehicles

- Create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement of supplies and materials

- Maintain certifications and equipment training qualifications

- Market services and procure clients

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Hazardous waste experience and annual certifications (40hr HAZWOPER, 8hr HAZWOPER Supervisor Initial, Blood Borne Pathogens) (At least 1 year of experience required)

- FEMA Certifications (IS-3, IS-37, IS-454, IS-810, IS-100/700)

- SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus) annual fit test, use training, and filling station training

- Pump training (Trash Pump, Diaphragm Pump, Fuel Pump)

- Physical required every 2 years

- Equipment operation and maintenance experience (Skid Steer, Mini Excavator, Tanker Tapping Hardware)

- Pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and physical exam

- Must be able to interpret and follow written and oral instructions and assignments

- Must be able to manage and oversee others in a fast paced environment

- Able to wear full and half face respirator and other protective gear/suits

- Able to work in confined spaces

- Physically able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds
