Job summary
We are looking for a passionate, hard-working, and talented Front-End Development Engineer who has experience building innovative web applications. The person chosen for this position will have the opportunity to bring their creative solutions to life and see their usage by Amazon Air Operations Specialists. You will be working on the AWS Cloud-based applications that provide added operational visibility and enhancements to Amazon's Air Cargo Network. You will solve difficult and often-times ambiguious front-end/middle-tier software problems, making technical and design approach trade-off decisions when necessary to deliver elegant solutions that are logical and maintainable.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Demonstrated experience working with front-end technology (React, Javascript, HTML, CSS).
• Experience following common UX design patterns within web applications, building custom UX widgets, and optimizing apps for performance.
• Experience working with AWS Core Services as they relate to web applications.
• Knowledge of in Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years overall software development experience
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related STEM field.
• Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts.
• Experience and/or a genuine interest in Aviation.
• Experience using cloud services beyond those that are traditionally used to support web applications.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
