We are seeking a seasoned Data Modeler / ETL Developer professional, with a strong background and experience in Data Warehouse design, implementation and ETL development. Candidates should have extensive experience in data modeling and ETL development for Business Intelligence / Data Warehousing projects to help build, populate and maintain our Data Warehouse environment.Job Responsibilities Include:

• Gather and assess business information needs, understand data requirements and document data modeling requirements; drive the requirements through to design, and implementation of DW data model.
• Create and update data model solutions in support of Master Data Management, Data Warehouse / Data Mart and BI reporting projects and initiatives across CHFS. Provide data model design solutions that will perform with BI, ETL and DWH database implementations.
• Maintain data integrity by eliminating redundancy and stay informed of the ways the organization uses its data and manages the flow of information between departments.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert in data modeling concepts (star schema, snowflake schema, normalized & de-normalized models) to help build EDW, ODS and Data Marts.
• Design and create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for high performance Data Warehouse applications utilizing best practices, capturing and maintaining metadata from all data warehousing components.
• Participate in source system analysis and ETL design discussions to help design and develop ETL solutions that support data warehouse processes.
• Create data pipeline designs and ETL jobs for extracting source data and loading the DW.
• Participate in all project planning, status and review meetings.
• Assist in the identification and estimation of data analysis, ETL and data modeling tasks.
• Support data model review and validation requirements; and support model issue remediation.
• Conduct analysis to validate the performance of data models and ETL jobs and recommend improvements.
• Identify data quality issues, discrepancies and complexities in source systems that could affect the design of DW and ETL jobs and propose solutions.
• Manage models by supporting data warehouses in terms of accuracy and completeness; understand data and process structures from System of Record to ensure accuracy and precision of data used for modeling, reporting and analysis data marts.
• Create, test and deploy new DDL/DML for data warehouses and data marts.
• Create and update technical documentation such as source to target mapping documents, data dictionaries, etc.
• Drive standardization of processes that ensure timely generation and retrieval of reporting and analytics data, including support of model management framework.
• Work with DBA and Business SME to understand and document the key relationships and hierarchies in the data and translate requirements into data structures and reporting models.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) experience, including data modeling for multi-dimensional Data Warehouses (Inmon, and /or Kimball methodologies preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience working with databases such as MS SQL Server and Oracle.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with ETL tools such as DataStage and SSIS.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in multiple IT areas that include successful data modeling for IT initiatives like data integration, data warehouse, MDM and Business Intelligence.
• Demonstrated experience with Data Warehouse Architecture, Data Analytics Platform design, and implementation of data models for large scale data warehouses.
• Experience in dimensional data modeling techniques and solution designs.
• Experienced in using data modeling tools such as Erwin data modeler.
• Experienced in developing SQL queries and Stored Procedures.
• Outstanding ability to recommend and define a scalable Enterprise Data Warehouse architecture and Data Model.
• Strong demonstrated data modeling skills and knowledgeable in concepts, practices, and procedures for data modeling. Thorough understanding of data modeling principles and naming conventions. Ability to understand Primary and Foreign Key requirements within DW environments. Knows and understands how to optimize Data Models.
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong technical documentation skills (source-to-target mappings, LDM, PDM, etc.).
• Strong SQL skills with hands-on data analysis skills to understand and extract data.
• Advanced knowledge of data integration concepts, source-to-target mapping techniques, and requirements documentation for ETL team to follow.
• Advanced knowledge of DataStage, SSIS and/or other ETL tools to ensure design patterns are consistently aligned to by the development team as part of the overall DW product.
• Ability to coordinate tasks for creating data models, data dictionaries, and other database documentation across multiple projects.
• Ability to interface with the database teams to communicate changes and the implementation of physical design.
• Ability to work with data transformation teams to properly communicate data models and ETL designs.
