Position Summary
The Warehouse Lead supports the daily functions of the Shipping department, including tracking of invoices, updating inventory paperwork, tracking and scheduling loading and unloading of trucks, schedules delivery to and receiving from and for other pick-ups. As the position relates to an "off" shift, this position will serve as a backup to the "off" shift Supervisor and will be responsible for oversight of the flow of the plant, as it relates to people and processes, to ensure day to day tasks/goals are achieved. This position will manage aspects of clerk responsibilities along with packaging and other warehouse related duties. This individual will be tasked with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Functions

  • Monitors shipping paperwork throughout the warehouse
  • Tracking and scheduling the loading and unloading of trucks
  • Responsible for transmission of ASNs for automotive
  • Calls truck lines daily for part pick-ups including expedited freight
  • Responsible for international shipping of product (export paperwork)
  • Maintains positive and productive communication with internal and external customers and suppliers
  • Maintains organized filing system for related paperwork
  • Maintains Shipping related policies and ensures proper procedures are being followed
  • of packaging and other warehouse related supplies
  • Special projects related to cost savings or other business-related improvements within Logistics
  • Collaboratively work with Supervisors/Managers to ensure timely response to customers both internal and external
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills & Experience
  • High School Graduate or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred
  • Three (3) to five (5) years experience in shipping warehouse coordinator functions
  • Advanced knowledge of computers, Microsoft Office, and JDEdwards

Competencies (5-10 Critical Areas of Understanding/Practice for the role)
  • Basic mathematical understanding and ability (add, subtract, divide units of measurement)
  • Common sense understanding to carry out work instructions
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Good computer knowledge, preferably with Microsoft office
  • Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects timely
  • Ability to work overtime as required and assist with weekend emergency shipments as needed.
  • Ability to give basic instruction and provide oversight to warehouse.

Working Conditions
Inside typical office environment with time spent on production floor regularly. Use of computer and other office equipment frequently. Production floor temperature fluctuates dependant on season. Noise levels require hearing protection. Working around powered industrial vehicles. Production floor can become slippery with oil.
