Description: The Engineering Technician IV performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently. Work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions. This technician performs at this level one or a combination of such typical duties as:a. Constructing components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment; may troubleshoot and correct malfunctions;b. Following specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.c. Conducting various tests or experiments which may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement, selecting, preparing, and operating standard test equipment and records test data;d. Extracting and compiling a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc., processing data, identifying errors or inconsistencies, selecting methods of data presentation.e. Assisting in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts; developing information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and using judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.Basic Qualifications:Work on and utilize Electronic test equipment and diagnosis Electronic test equipment.-Must be motivated-Must be a self-starter-Keen attention to detail-Be able to work in an environment with minimal supervision and direction.-Strong ability to perform web-based and Technical Manual-driven research-Verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and OEM's a must-Place high value and quality on your work.-Must have the ability to multi-task and adapt to ever-changing requirements-Need to be dedicated to the overall success of the program and willing to contribute to the mission.Desired Skills:Job skills and experience:-Experience with military technical manuals -Experienced use of Microsoft office (specifically Outlook and Excel) -Possess a background in electronics- Must know how to read and interpret electrical engineering drawings- Must be familiar with military communications equipment to include:-TACLAN/MISO Systems-Servers and applications-handheld radios-man-pack radios-SATCOM terminals-Must know and understand RF cabling-Must know how to fabricate wiring harnesses and RF cables to industry standards following engineering drawings.-Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and identify parts and tooling required to complete a requirement -Must have familiarity with the use of Spectrum analyzers, Signal Generators, Power Meters and Sensors, and Antenna Analyzers -Must know how to make RF measurements such as receiver sensitivity, power levels, and frequency accuracy using above equipment -Must know and understand RF theory of operations.-Must be familiar with antennas and testing antennas to manufactures specs.-Must be able to research and learn new equipment to identify tooling and test requirements -Basic understanding of computer software and networking to link together complex systems comprised of different equipment.-Must be able to maintain and troubleshoot RF test equipment.-Must be either solder certified or able to be certified to circuit card level.-Must possess RF and electronic troubleshooting techniques to repair radio equipment.-Experienced use of hand tools to perform electronic repairs.-Must know how to test RF cables for return loss and reflection using cable analyzers -Experience working in an ESD sensitive-Must be able to Install, operate, and maintain assigned TACLAN/MISO equipment consisting of routers, hubs, switches, servers, network management and information assurance tools, printers, scanners, and various cabling.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:job.QualificationsLockheed Martin is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
