We are a small/mid-size retail company (15 employees) located "out in the sticks" between Frankfort and Owenton KY, and we are seeking an office manager / book-keeper. This is a full-time (40 hr/week) job with career potential and benefits. Specific requirements would include:
Experience with accounting and general book-keeping
Experience with Payroll
Good phone / interpersonal skills
Good organizing skills
Mid-level computer skills (PC-based). Experience with QuickBooks software a plus.
Pay scale for this job is between $14 and $20 per hour, depending on what skills and experience an employee brings to the job. Full-time employees accrue up to 20 paid leave days per year, plus paid holidays. Company retirement plan available. Day shift only. Excellent employee references required, as this position has access to sensitive company information.
Our business is a retail establishment selling and servicing small-scale agricultural and professional gardening equipment to small-scale (mostly organic) farmers, homesteaders. and landowners. We sell only high-quality products and we provide high-quality service (which doesn't necessarily mean high-dollarwe treat our customers like we would want to be treated).
We endeavor to operate a sustainable business; we are 100% solar-powered, we recycle everything we can, we have a composting toilet, a rainwater catchment system and all kinds of eco-friendly stuff. The great majority of our sales are shipped out-of-state, as we ship all over North America and have a large Internet presence for the products we offer. We are out in the country, 6 miles from the nearest gas station or convenience store.
