Vacancy expired!

The densely-populated northern part of Kentucky (which is serviced out of our Cincinnati local), is growing rapidly, providing our members with plenty of work opportunities.

Contractors in other parts of the state have ongoing projects with steady demand.

In Lexington and Louisville, there are good prospects for more commercial and industrial work as we move into 2019 and later. Larger projects include a convention center in Lexington, and a Toyota plant work In Georgetown coming in the early spring 2019.

In the Louisville area, we expect an increase in commercial work as well as a project to expand the UPS distribution hub. We also get plenty of work from shutdowns at the area’s two large Ford assembly plants. We get shutdown work from the GM Corvette plant in Bowling Green and the Toyota plant in Georgetown. Our Louisville local is interested in accepting applications from all electrical construction workers.

Elsewhere in Kentucky, our employers are aggressively seeking to increase their market share of small-to-medium size commercial work. Our Paducah, Owensboro, and Eastern Kentucky locals are also interested in receiving applications from all classifications of Journeyman and apprentices.

Line construction work in the state is booming. The Louisville local, which handles all Kentucky line work, is interested in applications from all classifications of line workers, including tree trimmers.
