Computer Operator I, II, or III

The National Government Services Network Operation Center (NOC) Computer Operator is responsible for crisis event monitoring. The NOC is staffed for 24 X 7 X 365 coverage. Proactively address issues before they become problems or incidents. Responsible for ensuring midrange and/or mainframe system batch processing, connectivity and performance are monitored.

Location: Shelbyville, KY

Hours: 1stshift - 7am - 7pm with 10% Differential.
Required to work every other weekend.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Ensures all system and production problems are recognized and appropriate action is taken to meet batch processing and online schedules. Provides training for less experienced operators.
  • Adheres to standard data management practices, monitoring backup data and ensuring off-site requirements are met for midrange and/or mainframe /LAN servers and workstations.
  • Assures user setup, access and terminations processes follow documented procedures in compliance with all regulatory requirements; maintains and develops documentation to support the process.
  • Ensures documentation is written and kept updated on current procedures. Ensures out-of-house data is available for distribution.
  • Performs data center administrative functions to ensure policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

Computer Operator III
  • RequiresAssociate's degree in Computer or Information Technology or appropriate, recognized trade certification; 3-5 years of computer operator experience, including experience in telecommunications and network environments; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Excellent technical, telecommunication and computer skills required.
  • Claims systems experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills required.

Computer Operator II
  • Requires a H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 1 year of personal computer experience with telecommunications and network environments, midrange or mainframe systems.
  • Excellent technical, telecommunication and computer skills required.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communications skills required.

Computer Operator I
  • Requires High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of personal computer experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Demonstrates excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
