Our largest subsidiary, Louisville Paving and Construction, has been serving the Kentuckiana area since 1949.PurposeThis position is responsible for providing direct in-field supervision of a highway crew working on all phases of heavy highway/civil concrete structure and/or various other related construction projects. The Project Foreman is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under their direction and control. The Project Foreman is the front-line safety officer for the site/project and is directly responsible for the safety of their crew.Job Responsibilities

Provides leadership and is responsible for safety, scheduling, workforce planning, coordinating, supervising and assisting with cost control; ensuring the consistent and fair application of all LPC policies and procedures.

Supervise functional construction effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule.

Assist project team in scheduling, developing, and implementing project work plans and procedures, working documents and standards to ensure project goals are achieved.

Responsible for providing on-site craft supervision (concrete, rebar, grading, drainage, etc.) of project.

Supervise crews in a heavy highway/bridge construction environment to include setting form work, pile driving, drilled shafts, etc.

Perform labor duties associated with installing, bracing and leveling precast concrete panel (MSE Wall Panels).

Identifies, verifies and reports any scheduling conflicts, needs, or deficiencies with other crews and subcontractors to the appropriate persons.

Understands and communicates safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance in all areas of safety, while identifying the needs for crew safety training.

Assesses competency and capability of employees on the project and evaluates the capabilities of the crew members.

Recognizes and addresses issue/problems that may arise among crew members and provides effective resolutions.

Education / Experience

Must have 3+ years’ experience in managing a crew in heavy highway construction.

7+ years of heavy civil/structures construction experience. Familiarity with generally accepted construction specifications, means, and methods is required.

Must have the ability to read and comprehend blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications.

Experience and familiarity with cranes, heavy machinery, basic survey equipment, and other industry standard equipment is required.

Knowledge of all types of highway and bridge construction equipment, forming systems, and the calculation/setting of grades.

Hands-on construction experience with DOT bridge, pile driving, concrete formwork, concrete pours, approach slabs, bridge substructures and superstructures, etc.

Experience efficiently and safely operating an excavator, dozer, backhoe, and other construction equipment.

Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working in a team environment.

Knowledge and understanding of prevailing wage rules.

30 hour OSHA or equal.
