Kforce has a client that is seeking an OSP Inspector in Louisville, KY.Job Duties: Position oversees, inspects, and monitors construction field work, to include but not limited to:

Observance of all safety requirements as defined by OSHA and company safety standards

Public communication notices of construction activity

Construction site conditions, preparation and traffic control (where applicable)

Contractor handling, treatment and preparation of network material for installation (cable, conduit handholes etc.)

All subsurface field work to include bore, trench, plow and any excavations

Installation of handhole/manholes

Installation of duct to include sealing of duct to structure wall

Installation of aerial cable/duct, risers, guys, hardware, etc., to the extent that can be evaluated from the ground using available technology, binoculars, camera etc.

Installation of underground cable to include sealing of cable to duct

Installation of splice enclosures, fiber distribution hubs and fiber distribution terminals

Installation of grounding, locate markers, test stations and locate wire

Restoration of soft & hard scape

Locate function and facility depth (spot checks) with appropriate hardening of facilities as required

Appropriate labeling of network elements, handhole

High School diploma or GED / equivalent

Candidates must have 5-7 years of experience with: outside plant construction methods for various aerial and underground fiber-optic installations; job site, confined space and personal safety (PPE); general permitting and restoration requirements. Local market knowledge and experience is preferred

Must be knowledgeable in outside plant construction

Line, splicing and substructure experience

Candidates will perform live auditing of all Outside Plant (OSP) facilities in a construction environment and must demonstrate expert job knowledge on the subject matter identified herein in order to effectively meet the company's requirements for quality products and services

Underground utility locating skills

Project & time management, multitasking skills

Communication & interpersonal skills (build new and leverage existing relationships)

Computer skills to include familiarity with various software applications such as MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe, Various Internet Browsers

Analyze and interpret telecom and non-telecom construction prints, redlines and as-builts (plan and profile)

Work independently with little to no supervision

Working knowledge of GIS platforms such as Google Earth (3GIS and ArcMap preferred)
