Highland Coffee Company Bakery Positions:
Baker.
Willing to train applicant who has cake decorating or commercial kitchen experience who is enthusiastic about learning to bake.
We are primarily a vegan kitchen.
Experience with vegan and gluten free baking a plus but not required. Must at least have a positive attitude in learning to bake w/vegan ingredients.
Background in commercial kitchen experience needed.
This is a small commissary setting that is separate (2 doors down) from retail shop.
Combination of production baking, specialty items, and prep of food items such as breakfast wraps and panini.
Excellent work ethic, organizational, time management, communication, problem solving skills.
Able to multi task, work quickly, efficiently, independently while still maintaining highest quality once trained.
MUST be neat, clean, and organized.
Will be enthusiastic about baking.
Overall positive attitude, helping maintain productive , positive, upbeat work environment.
Able to take direction , constructive criticism in positive way and maintain good communication with owners, other bakers, and shop staff.
Will be able to work independently and efficiently without supervision once trained, and be trustworthy, dependable, reliable.
Pride in presentation of all desserts. Attention to detail.
Maintaining pars of all standard desserts.
Overseeing quality, freshness, consistency (taste, visual appeal) of all dessert and other food items.
Able to flat ice and decorate 2 and 3 layer cakes a plus.
Assist w/ weekly inventory ordering of all bakery supplies, products.
Schedule flexibility, especially during busy dessert seasons Valentines Day, Christmas, and for large/ special orders, sometimes on short notice.
Will adhere to all Health Dept protocol at all times and maintain highest level of cleanliness and sanitation of bakery.
Serv Safe Certification will be needed.
Understanding and ability to help owners control labor and food costs.
Need to be able to lift and move 50 lb bags of supplies.
Daytime hours 20-35 hrs/week. Day starts 530/6am start time. Must have weekend Sunday , Monday, availability. Must be completely reliable for early morning arrival.
Part time with potential for full time.
