Lighting Design Specialist
Alcott & Bentley has an exciting opening in our Highlands Showroom. We are looking for a creative individual with an eye for design to assist clients, interior designers, and builders with the selection of lighting fixtures and ceiling fans as well as the overall application of lighting in homes or business. We seek an energetic, outgoing personality interested in interior design with the desire to learn all aspects of lighting design in residential and small commercial spaces.
We are a local, independently owned, boutique showroom and have provided the Louisville area and beyond with unique lighting, ceiling fans and interior products for over 30 years. Our designs have earned Best Lighting Design and our showroom has been a finalist in the national Showroom of the Year Awards, 2018 and 2019! Most recently we were recognized by Louisville Magazine as top 50 unique places to shop :)
The position is for an enthusiastic person to join a team of 2, a resident Lighting Specialist of 5 years and an Interior Designer of 2 years. You will have a voice and influence in collaboration with the team. It is important that you are driven, self motivated and can take initiative as a member of the team. In addition to joining a great local business and working with an experienced team you must enjoy gaining new knowledge as well. The trained lighting specialist has a unique skill acquired thru training and experience.
Essential Requirements:
Passionate about Interior Design and Lighting
Creative Mindset and desire to learn the art of lighting design
Professional and comfortable working with clients
Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
Preferred Candidates:
1 to 3+ years of sales or customer service experience
Bachelor Degree preferred or combination of experience and educationÂ
Strong sales/customer service background is a plus
Hours:
Hours will be scheduled in our showroom M-F 10:00 to 6:00 and Saturday 10:00 5:00, full -time and part-time available
