Centre for the Arts is looking to hire a guitar and a drum instructor! We prefer to hire someone who has a degree in music, but we also accept applicants who have experience teaching music to any age. The Centre is a non-profit organization that exists to create a safe environment for children and adults to discover, nurture, and expand their artistic abilities. Most of our students are beginners. Their ages range from 6 years old to adult. Instruction is given in a private lesson setting. Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week. Our classes begin August 18, and will go weekly through the school year until the first weekend of May, 2021. We take about a month off for Christmas and we also follow school year holidays and closure policies.
We have a few acoustic guitars that belong to the Centre that we allow our students to borrow, if they need a guitar. Mostly, a student brings their own acoustic guitar. For drum students, we have practice pads for students to take home. Registration fees cover the cost of instruction books, strings, drum sticks or other materials needed for the lesson.
Our schedule is somewhat flexible, but we are hoping to schedule all of our guitar and drum lessons for Wednesday evenings between 2 and 7 pm.
