Mechanical Industrial Specialist
Job Description:
This position will collect necessary data to assess and document current efficiencies and productivity conditions of site construction and maintenance contractor teams. The fields of analysis will include multiple crafts such as millwrights, pipe fitters, welders, boilermakers, other mechanical crafts and I& E crafts. This position will study and analyze all aspects of field execution. The information will be used for identifying improvement opportunities and then monitoring improvements implemented.
Activities will include following work crews and documenting activities by prescribed categories. This âtime and motionâ study will be compiled into daily and weekly data sets. Expectation will be to follow multiple crews on a daily basis and provide the collected data on weekly basis, along with feedback on areas for opportunity or of concern, as well as interfacing with crew members on their activities and obstacles. Training will be provided for this role, but a working knowledge of construction and maintenance activities and mechanical work is needed.
Candidate Requirements:
Candidate must have the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of industrial safe work practices.
- Industrial construction experience (1+ yrs).
- Working knowledge of soft skills work practices
- Working knowledge of general types mechanical equipment and/or maintenance items
- Data organization and analytical capability
- Good organizational skills
- Good communication skills (both written and oral)
- Ability to work with multiple cross-functional teams and departments
- Basic Computer skills
- Basic math skills
- The following minimum safety training and security clearances
o Basic OSHA training provided by the Alliance Safety Council
o BASF Geismar Site orientation from the Alliance Safety Council
o TWIC Card
o Security Passport as issued by the Alliance Safety Council
