Manual Machine Operator
POSITION SUMMARY:
Journey machinist responsible for manually operating machines and producing complex production and prototype parts to high tolerance design specifications in an accurate and timely manner.
POSITION KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Operates all equipment and tools with the utmost attention to safety and professionalism.
2. Able to operate Lathes, cylindrical grinders, and HBM from part set up to job completion.
3. Capacity to learn thread rolling.
4. Capable of reading and understanding: outside and inside micrometers, vernier calipers, venier height and depth gauges
5. Understand blueprints, drawings, schematics, engineering information.
6. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
7. Align/secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines.
8. Observes and listens to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs.
9. Measures, examines and tests completed parts in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
10. Ensures all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety with regards to tight machining tolerances.
11. Other duties as assigned including mechanic work on various Reciprocating Compressor Components.
