Proset Modular is a Commercial Modular installation company installing modular hotels and apartments across the country. We have experienced tremendous growth and are looking for the right individuals to add to our team. This is a traveling position with our crew. The majority of our work is in the Northern CA area but we do travel the country occasionally as needed.
We are seeking persons in one either one of the following basic classifications;
Laborers. We are seeking persons with a great attitude and a great work ethic interested in learning a new specialty trade, willing to grow with the company from the bottom up. Our laborers are persons with a limited understand of basic carpentry but possess common sense and the ability to understand and follow direction.
Carpenters. We are seeking persons with a carpentry skillset, mostly rough carpentry, but finish carpentry is always a plus.
Before you reply to this add, please note that this job is not for everyone. Our jobs are located from the West coast to the mid-west. Right now, we are very active in California and Colorado so the persons we bring on board need to be aware that this is a life on the road. Our crews spend weeks at a time on the road so this may not (or might be) the right job for a family man or woman. If you are still interested, please read on.
Required traits and skillset.
We only hire those who can demonstrate their ability to work well and very closely to their co-workers. Co-habitation with other workers and the ability to resolve differences professionally is very important. Attitude is everything in our company. Since we do live mostly on the road it is imperative that we understand the importance of team work and cohabitation. If you have been involved in physical fights or brawls in the last few months or are quick to get angry, then you may not be the person(s) we are seeking.
We commonly hire persons in groups. For example, if you and a friend or co worker are looking for a change and to travel the country a bit, it is sometimes easier to bring someone with you that you know.
You must be able to pass a drug test, we are a zero-tolerance company.
You must have your own transportation or be able to make your own travel arrangements for all projects.
If applying as a Carpenter, you must have basic carpentry hand tools and common cordless tools. In addition, you will need your own framing nailer, electric saw, and sawzall. We provide power, generator, and compressors as needed. We provide all specialty tools when needed.
Although this might sound a bit cliché, the one trait we try to identify more than any is common sense. Common sense is the ability to naturally see the most efficient and effective and path to a means. For example, when our modular installation crews are crane setting a 5-story Hotel we need people with common sense to understand the process once we have provided the training. Common sense to know where you should or should not be given the safety factors. Common sense to see that something doesnt look right and say something.
We are looking for person(s) who want a long-term career with plenty of advancement potential. In fact, we will not hire outside our own crews for supervisor, foreman, or other leadership positions.
