NexGen Data Systems is seeking an Audit Readiness Liaison to help clients track and manage cyber security compliance projects for multiple data centers, develop and document cyber security processes and procedures, and research emerging Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Navy (DON) compliance requirements. The Audit Readiness Liaison will interact with data center team members in multiple Information Technology (IT) disciplines and report on system hardening, scanning, and patching status to assist clients to achieve and sustain audit readiness. The Audit Readiness Liaison Assistant will perform a wide variety of data gathering and analysis to identify issues and trends impeding client audit goals and objectives, and will apply best practices to identify gaps and implement corrective action plans in a complex multi-system network environment. The Audit Readiness Liaison Assistant will report to the Cyber Security project lead and will be responsible for developing high quality work products in multiple Microsoft formats, such as presentations, documents, and spreadsheets. Knowledge and application of DoD and DON cyber security concepts and timely completion of tasks and deliverables with specified due dates will be ongoing requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Assess cyber security posture (e.g., STIG implementation, vulnerability scan status, Computer Network Defense [CND] compliance) and develop executive level compliance reports.
  • Apply knowledge of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Command Cyber Readiness Inspection (CCRI) program and the DON Cyber Security Inspection (CSI) program, and provide guidance to data center team members.
  • Apply knowledge of DON Enterprise IT Control Standards, and assist leadership team with FIAR compliance and reporting.
  • Continuously audit and review all DoD/DON requirements (e.g., CCRI/CSI/FISCAM/RMF/MEDICAL) and inspect and report compliance per leadership directives.
  • Develop policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) as required to facilitate audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and facilitate meetings to achieve audit readiness and/or cyber security milestones.
  • Prepare written communications for leadership team as required to facilitate stakeholder communications.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of computer concepts, technologies, and security principles.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of risk management concepts and assist with incorporating best practices into the strategic plan.


Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft products such as PowerPoint and Word are required.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel required, to include but not limited to, table development, spreadsheet accuracy, knowledge of Excel’s advanced features, proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics, ability to build scripts, add-ons, and macros, etc.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and ability to maintain cyber readiness dashboard required
  • Knowledge of PowerShell scripting required.
  • Knowledge of vendor and U.S. government cyber security requirements and principles, such as patching, vulnerability scans, computer network defense compliance, and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) required.
  • Familiarity with U.S. government cyber security processes, procedures, and directives required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include developing and delivering reports and presentations.
  • Strong research and analysis skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow schedule guidance.
  • Ability to be self-motivated and demonstrate excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to facilitate customer meetings and workshops, and track tasks to completion.
  • Ability to confidently interact with senior-level client personnel, including preparation for and participation in executive level briefings.
  • Experience working for or with federal government agencies required; Navy or Marine Corps experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team environment and demonstrate flexibility and innovation.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with data center design including systems, storage and networking.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority.
  • Possess a BA/BS degree in computer studies, security, or related field. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree, as long as an expected degree completion date is within one year of start date, and evidence is provided in advance.
  • Must have COMPTIA Security+ce certification.
  • Travel as required.

Other requirements:
  • Must be able to support 24/7 operations, including 1st/2nd/3rd shifts and on-call weekends when required.
  • Exposure to and familiarity with data center environment.
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain and maintain a DoD SSBI clearance.
  • Commitment to continuous development and improvement.
  • 8570 compliance (IAT level II) is required and must be obtained prior to start date (Minimum Security+ and DB certification).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
