Find your future with us.The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Boeing Space & Launch Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Experienced Structural Analysis Engineer (Level 3) to perform detailed structural analysis and lead teams to provide solutions to key challenges for the Space Launch System (SLS) program, as well as provide support to multiple commercial and government programs in New Orleans, LA.This position performs structural analysis including stress, fracture and fatigue assessments. Builds finite element models, performs analyses, assesses margins and life usage. Works closely with designers to develop and improve designs, improve margins and mitigate technical risks. Works with and helps define structural requirements for vendors. Assesses structural test data and verification of requirements.This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.This is not a union represented position.Position Responsibilities:Develops, integrates and documents structural requirements to establish the system design.

Coordinates with other engineering groups to establish the product's environment.

Guides product design and verifies structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models/simulations and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle to develop the structural environment, characteristics and performance.

Develops test plans and configurations, supports test execution and analyzes/reports test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Defines and documents certification and test results to substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied.

Supports in-service products by investigating failures and analyzing improvements.

Works under general direction.

Ability to travel 10% of the time.

Work Authorization :This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. Access to the facility requires a background investigation by U.S. Government authorities.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Qualifications) :Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or higher.

3+ years of experience using NASTRAN/PATRAN or similar FEM software to perform structural analysis on aircraft or space structures.

3+ years of experience with structural analysis methods and repair principles (e.g., fatigue and corrosion, stress analysis, statics, materials strength, material characteristics, repair techniques, damage tolerance methods used in maintenance programs).

Willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :3+ years of experience on space, launch vehicle, and/or aircraft programs.

Experience in NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program

Typical Education/Experience :Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience).
