Ochsner Baptist - A Campus of Ochsner Medical Center is fully accredited and staffed by more than 600 trusted, skilled physicians and specialists – many practicing at Ochsner Baptist for decades. Featuring all private, inpatient rooms, an intensive care unit, a state-of-the-art operating rooms and two cardiac catheterization labs, the hospital is located in the heart of New Orleans.

Our 24-hour, full-service emergency department at Ochsner Baptist means most patients will be seen by a doctor in 30-minutes or less. The 6,000 square foot emergency room is staffed by a team of board-certified ER physicians, offers two trauma rooms and 12 patient rooms and is equipped with specialized geriatric amenities for seniors.

Job Duties

• This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice.
• Delegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members
• Assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes
• Exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions
• Maintains involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives
• Demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for his/her own practice and supports Ochsner’s philosophy of nursing

Work Experience

• Preferred – Experience in a critical care setting

Qualifications

• Required -Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Required -Current State of Louisiana Registered Nurse License
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Certification.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire.
