Content Strategist (New Orleans)

Vacancy expired!

Online Optimism’s Search and Content Department is growing! We are looking for a passionate, hard-working individual to join the other three full-time members of our Search + Content team as a Content Strategist to help businesses of all shapes, sizes, and industries craft engaging, beautifully written content that drives results via storytelling and visits from search.

To be considered, you must apply at: https://www.onlineoptimism.com/about/careers-employees/content-strategist/

Wondering about COVID-19? Us too – but our agency is growing, and this position will be filled. Here’s answers to FAQs:

At the moment, our staff has the option to either work remotely, or in-office. You will have those same options from day 1.

We have a plethora of policies to ensure the safety of staff coming into our office, including nightly cleanings, masks in common areas, and hand-sanitizer aplenty.

As New Orleans stays in Phase 2 and Phase 3, we are allowing clients to come by our office for onboardings and renewals, if so desired. You may be expected to come in to talk to clients for those meetings.

We do not know when COVID-19 will be over. However, once it is done, you’ll be expected to work from our New Orleans offices like the rest of our team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Crafting engaging copy in a variety of formats for clients, including blogs, FAQs, website content, press releases, and long-form webpages.

Acting as a digital “storyteller” for 3–7 clients of various industries across the Gulf Coast, including face-to-face communication with the clients themselves.

Conducting external research and coordinating with clients to be able to provide unique insights to their visitors via your content.

Writing about complex topics in a manner that all readers can understand and evaluate.

Implementing SEO best practices to maximize the searchability and use of your content.

Assisting with managing department interns and evaluating/critiquing their work.

Partnering with our other departments (Digital Ads, Social Media) to edit their work and ensure brand consistency for your clients.

Reporting to our Search & Content Director.

What You Need to Apply:

1–3+ years performing content marketing, or another form of creative writing, in a professional environment.

Portfolio showcasing experience publishing digital content across mediums and industries.

Passion for helping small to medium-size businesses grow through measured, effective content marketing campaigns.

Ability to work both as a member of a team and autonomously as needed.

Comfort talking directly to clients and the many members of their teams that we coordinate with to perfect content.

In Addition, We’re Looking for Applicants Who Have:

Experience working at a digital agency or in-house performing content marketing, copywriting, or SEO.

Previous experience with SEO or WordPress.

HTML knowledge that allows you to implement most SEO best practices on your own.

Bachelor’s degree with a major in public relations, marketing, or communications.

Google Analytics Certification.
