The York Beach Bucket convenience store is looking for a kitchen manager in 2019 to assist us with food & beverage and most importantly, our new food program for our motel the Sands by the Sea Motel. The motel is right next door and shares a property line.
The York Beach Bucket is a new beachfront convenience store and pizzeria going into its 3rd season. Were located right on Short Sands Beach in York Beach Maine. We have the best handmade pizza on any beach in 30 miles. We serve and offer almost everything. Delicious fresh foods, beer & wine (both retail and on premise), gelato, ice, groceries, meats, cheeses, coffee, espresso and everyday grocery items like cereal, candy, canned goods, bread, retail merchandise etc.
The store gets very busy. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are seasonal. We have gained a lot of traction in the last 2 seasons and in our 3rd season we are hitting the ground running with a full-fledged room service/delivery program for the motel. This program will be of a delivery nature and not the classic room service most people think of.
This position will require someone who has experience with food. You must know how to handle yourself in the kitchen and be able to get the most out of your staff. You will have a great team of line cooks, prep cooks and general employees under you. You will be their supervisor. The boss. Our menu is already completed but we are currently tweaking it for the 2019 season. A few additions and subtractions.
We are looking to deliver breakfast, lunch and dinner to all 60 units and directly to our pool. We will be delivering sealed alcoholic beverages and fresh pizza and foods to the pool. The staff will be taking orders by phone and via iPadmini by the pool. It will be your job to help us design an approach that works. Nothing fancy, but something workable, dependable and efficient. We need to feed our built-in customer base.
We have a lot of fun at the York Beach Bucket and we are like a little family here when we are open for business. We have a general manager for the store already and two very involved owners. We have almost 10 repeat employees coming back for the 2019 season and when we are fully staffed, we have over 25 employees. We will have a trained staff. That being said, we will also have new employees that will need to be trained behind the line and behind the register and on the floor. Getting the food on point and keeping the kitchen employees on task is a must. We need someone with a good work ethic and a great wealth of knowledge. Your attitude will need to be good and your dependability will need to be something that we don't have to think about twice.
We are setting up to have an awesome season this year and we're looking forward to finding a great new staff member to help manage this place.
