We are looking to hire Smoothie Artists / Team Members at our Forest Ave location in Portland, Maine.
Who we are:
Blake Orchard is a plant-based focused smoothie and juice shop which was founded by Alli Messenger in 2014. Alli opened her first brick and mortar in June of 2016 on Exchange Street in Portland, Maine. During college Alli found a huge passion for sharing raw, nutrient-dense juices, nut mylks, and plant-based food with family, friends, and her surrounding community. After understanding the positive impact plant-based eating had on our health, the decision to not cut any corners with Blake Orchard's product lines became Alli’s mission. We focus heavily on using organic quality sourced ingredients and strive to put out consistently beautiful food that nourishes your body. Alli opened a second location in Portland, Maine in June of 2019. We now have two locations in Portland, Maine and have high hopes to continue growing our brand and bringing more awareness to the importance of quality food and self-care.
What makes us different:
All of our alternative nut/coconut milks are made fresh in house on a daily basis. We use a two step process called cold pressing to produce our fresh juice blends and bottle them in reusable glass. We do not dilute any of our juices or smoothies with water or ice and the only sweeteners we use are dates and local raw honey, which makes all of our menu items nourishing for our bodies and the perfect meal alternative. We are proud to say that we have been able to maintain these high quality standards since day one.

We are looking for hard working team members that are proud to create quality food for our local community. We are looking for individuals that are able to keep a clean and organized workspace, pay close attention to detail, loves interacting and building relationships with our customers, and has an instinctive desire to help out wherever and however they are needed as a new growing business and kitchen atmosphere can often be unpredictable.
Job Requirements:
Greet customers and provide an exceptional customer service experience.
Prep work includes (but not limited to): prepare house-made milks, cut fresh fruit for the day, freeze fruit, restock stations, sticker cups/bowls.
Prep and prepare menu items. All smoothies and bowls are made-to-order. Presentation is KEY.
Must be knowledgable about our product lines and be able to engage with customers while answering all questions related to our product offerings.
Maintain a clean and organized working station.
Responsible for answering phones and taking phone orders.
Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) - moving and organizing produce and dry goods deliveries.
Weighing, prepping, cutting, and washing organic produce.
Run and properly maintain commercial juicing equipment and blenders.
Bottle finished product.
Must follow sanitation guidelines throughout all food production and preparation.
Speed and efficiency, along with attention to detail, are all important while creating all menu offerings.
Previous kitchen / customer service experience is required for this position as we do make everything fresh in-house on a daily basis - leaving us with an extensive to-do list on a daily basis.
