Are you an experienced chef looking for your next great challenge? Are you tired of working 70+ hours a week on salary, never getting overtime/holiday pay, or getting holidays at all? Are you looking to hone your skills at some of the best restaurants New England has to offer?
If you have answered âyesâ to any of the above questions our 86âRelief Team might be right for you. We are currently recruiting chefs to join our fast growing team.
What is the 86âRelief Team? Itâs our team of pro chefs, that step in and cover whenever a restaurant is short-staffed, requires temp coverage, or needs help with catering gigs, to name but a few. We cater to all different needs, from covering as a Line Cook up to covering as the Exec Chef.
You get to bounce around from restaurant to restaurant networking with tons of chefs and restauranteurs along the way. Most of our assignments last 2-6 weeks, and once itâs over, you get to choose your next assignment and off you go!
We offer full-time, year-round gigs with us (youâre always guaranteed 40 hours every week), or you can work with us on a part-time/flex basis. Our pay will range from $20-$30/hour, and you get overtime for all hours over 40, plus 1.5x holiday pay. Youâre also paid weekly (every Friday) via Direct-Deposit.
You can take time off whenever you feel like it - seriously. Donât want to work Christmas? Thatâs fine with us. Want to take two weeks off to chill at the beach this summer? We just remind you to bring the sunscreen. We believe in a work/life balance, and if youâre not available to work, we just mark you as âbooked outâ.
We try to keep assignments as close to your hometown as possible, and the longest you would ever have to drive would be 30-45 minutes, but ideally, we keep you within 10-15 minutes (or less) from your home, but this all depends on what assignments we have open. We have a total of 39 chefs on our team now, and all of them are kept wicked busy, even in the winter!
But, what weâre most proud of is the fact we care about our 86âTeam. Maine Cater was built by chefs for chefs, and always have your best interest at heart. Before we make any big changes, we always consult with our chefs first to get their feedback on what weâre doing. You can ask any of our chef's questions before joining our team because weâre very, very transparent with everything we do.
