Looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead and organize the kitchen’s activities at a Greek Mediterraneanrestaurant in downtown Ogunquit, Maine. The restaurant is open April to December and features an intimate 50 seat restaurant and full bar. The work environment promotes a great family culture, a competitive salary and bonus structure.

Ideally, the chef will have experience in a managerial role and has good knowledge of standard restaurant computer programs. Someone who is able to assess and delegate tasks to ensure a smooth operation. A culinary degree is highly desired, and a (valid) food safety certification is a must.

The Head Chef's responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, overseeing the work of all kitchen staff, complete all hiring, managing and training of new kitchen staff members, ordering and inventory of kitchen equipment and food items, and ensure the highest quality, appearance and consistency of all dishes before exiting the kitchen.

A lot of emphasis is placed on the level of respect and cooperation between staff and the Head Chef is expected to lead by example to create a healthy + happy "family" inside the kitchen in correlation with the front of house staff. It's a very team orientated environment, and staff morale + happiness is very important.
