Pre-Covid we would have described ourselves as a 200 seat fine dining, year-round restaurant serving dinner only with Weddings & Functions on the weekends; with a strong Holiday business. We are fortunate to have been able to change our model, to some degree, to adapt to seating outside and on the lawn during the current Pandemic. We have many more events booked for 2021, as we have moved weddings to next year and continue to book our facility. We are at a cross roads of sorts. We have taken a lot of tables and chairs out and have worked hard to create a safe working environment for our employees and customers alike, resulting in more of a 100 seat restaurant with zones to expand. We need to honor our customers that have been with us for years, but also start to re-define our model as the customer who opted for fine dining, are largely among the demographic that is not ready to return, or not return as regularly. We are family owned and operated, and passionate about our property. We need a Head Chef that can grow with us into the Executive Chef and help frame the direction of dining in the new world.
You will be expected to work the line, create fresh menus, honor old favorites, execute functions, prep and work collaboratively with managers and owners, food costing, hire and fire and scheduling. We need someone who can lead the team and has vision. A passion for organizing the growing gardens a huge plus. Management experience required,; Culinary degree a plus, not a must. We are looking for someone who is up for a challenge and willing to work hard to help us achieve shared goals.
You must be physically able to lift 50lb of potatoes, bend, squat, twist and work long hours. A sense of humor is required. A realistic approach to simply prepared cuisine, with an eye for numbers. Clay Hill Farm is about the experience, we are not about turning tables, the customer must want to return and tell friends about their dinner.
