We're searching for an experienced and dedicated Line Cook to join the team at Dockside Restaurant for the summer season. You will be aiding the Executive and Sous Chefs. You will also focus on improving customer satisfaction.

Position summary:

Salary: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Accommodation: Comfortable housing is provided 2 miles from the restaurant for $100.00 per week with WIFI and all utilities included.

Seasonality: Late May - Mid October

Hours: 45+ in the busy season

Experience: 3+ years in a similar role

Line Cook responsibilities are:

- Work with Head Chef, kitchen team and event hosts/staff to ensure a consistently premier guest experience.

- Deliver exceptional meal services to restaurant guests and special event customers.

- Preparing and serving the menu, this will consist primarily of North Atlantic seafood to include lobster, clams, haddock, cod, halibut, swordfish, tuna, duckling, beef steaks and many other special foods. Under the direction of Chef Dennis LaPlante who is a patient and excellent teacher with 25 years of experience.

- Participating in maintaining inventory control to reduce waste and spoilage, and maintain a cost-efficient operation.

- Meeting and exceeding policies and procedures required by the Board of Health and Dockside food services operation and health requirements “ to maintain consistent kitchen and dining facility cleanliness and inspection requirements.

- Participating in set up, clean up, restocking, washing and sanitation processes.

- Properly organizing food, equipment, and supplies in storerooms.

- Utilizing leftovers and implementing proper food handling and storage procedures.

- Work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment “ demonstrating excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, as well as the ability to handle constructive feedback well and learn from mistakes.

- Help identify, develop and implement new procedures, standards, and food service innovations to drive ongoing process improvement, quality, efficiency and the kitchens ability to continually exceed guest expectations.

- Maintain a strong and consistent focus on details, personal/professional organization, proactive problem solving, teamwork, dependability and operational excellence.

- Help ensure the implementation of the highest kitchen quality, safety and cleanliness standards.
