Portland Pie Company, a full service, gourmet restaurant chain is seeking a Kitchen Manager for our soon to open Bangor location. Since 1998, Portland Pie Company has redefined what a take-out and delivery business is by offering a specialized in premium gourmet pizza with flavored pizza dough. With 7 locations, Portland Pie Company offers an award winning pizza to customers throughout New England.
The ideal Kitchen Manager must be a mature, professional individual who consistently exhibits great communication skills, sound judgment, and a positive attitude in the workplace. Leadership of employees, consistency, and attention to detail are cornerstones of this position within the management team. Key attributes of an individual in this position are willingness to learn, a personal and professional drive for development, and a keen interest in the industry.
Qualifications:
- Experience in managing a large, diverse staff with an emphasis on hiring, training, coaching, and cultivating a teamwork atmosphere
- Full understanding of food/labor costs; how to run and control inventory levels.
- Diploma or GED is required. Associates / Bachelor's Degree is preferred
- 1-3 years experience in a Management role in the hospitality/restaurant industry.
- Strong culinary skills and or industry education/training highly preferred
- Ability to work a fully flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Manage standards and commitment to quality timely and efficiently.
- Uphold commitment to all safety and sanitation practices.
- Oversee and optimize P&L and other financials
- Foster teamwork by building restaurant and organizational goals.
- Operate with a high degree of Professionalism, Ethics and Integrity, maintaining a role-model image.
- Review invoices for accuracy of delivery and pricing.
- Audit product and inventory procedures.
