We are looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at the Dockside Restaurant in York, ME. The successful candidate will employ its culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers satisfaction.
The Sous Chef at the Dockside works closely with the Exec Chef. The position requires heavy line work experience at both sauté and broiler stations knowledge of desserts and cold kitchen operations are a real plus. Your ability to maintain a positive and productive kitchen environment will ultimately determine your success.
Position summary:
Salary: $1,000.00 per week - Any hours over 50 hours per week will be paid an additional $20.00 per hour
Bonuses: Up-to a max of $1,750 on completion of the season and meeting targets
Hours: 50+ in the busy season (plenty of overtime!)

Experience: 3+ years in a similar role
Sous Chef responsibilities are:
- Prep the line boxes for the corresponding meal period.
- Keep the chef apprised of any provisions needing to be reordered.
- Coordinate cooking activities with the line cook and cold kitchen.
- Put away all soups, chowders etc. In a safe & sanitary manner
- Work banquet buffets cooking stations.
- Assist in daily specials creation.
Sous Chef requirements are:
- 2 years or more as a Sous Chef
- Familiar with hospitality principles
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to handle emergency situations
