Mussel Processing – Land Crew
Job Description
Bangs Island Mussels needs a dependable individual to work in our land-based mussel inspection room.
No experience necessary! We will train you.
Eligible for full health insurance coverage, PTO, and 5 paid holidays after 3 months
Duties: Mussel inspection, washing, bagging, weighing, and cleaning up.
We harvest mussels from our farm 2-3 times per week. In the afternoon, the processing crew unloads the mussels from the boat and performs the final processing and inspection of the mussels before they are delivered to the customers. This is essentially a mussel assembly line. The work is fast paced in a moist and somewhat loud environment (we wear ear protection and listen to music!) You do not have to work with us forever, but we would like you to stick around for a year or more.
This is a year-round position.
Hours: 3pm - 10pm (the end time varies according to the harvest amount) Monday and Thursdays. We hope to add a 3rd workday very soon!
Requirements:
- Dependable and on time!
- A good work ethic
- A positive attitude
- Ability to work as a team (a crew of 5 -7)
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Able to lift 50lbs, occasionally
- Waterproof boots
There are occasional opportunities for extra land-based work.

Salary: $15.00 /hour ($18.00/hour currently during emergency declared by the State or City)
