24 hours/week, Monday - Wednesday. This is a year-round, hourly position with benefits that include paid time off, a generous product stipend and a beautiful, unique work environment. Avena Botanicals (www.avenabotanicals.com) is a small business in Midcoast Maine providing high quality, handmade herbal products from seed to bottle. We are an herbal apothecary that has offered a variety of hand-crafted herbal remedies since 1985. Most of our products are made with herbs grown and hand-harvested from our own Biodynamic, organic gardens in Rockport, Maine.

The Marketing Specialist represents Avena Botanicals and its products, activities, and events to the public and to our beloved customer family. You will be responsible for creating social media posts, blog posts, email newsletters, promotions, advertisements, postcards, flyers, brochures, and catalogs. Your role will involve content creation, garden photography, video recordings, as well as analyzing marketing campaign results and offering strategy recommendations to the team. You will also coordinate the company's summer garden walks and several of its events on a year-to-year basis, including registration, communication with attendees, and staffing.
We are looking for a creative individual who has excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be comfortable collaborating closely with other team members but also able to work independently in a self-directed fashion. Experience in social media management and with PCs, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Photoshop are required. Preference given to candidates with graphic design and video editing experience. Some herbal experience and/or an interest in herbs is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
