Job Objective:
Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Lab Associate is responsible for consistently and accurately mixing fragrances, color dyes, and liquefied wax in support of the New Product Development Process, and in accordance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Create new color and fragrance mixes as directed by the Quality Manager by matching pantone numbers, keeping detailed records to eventually convert into scaled up larger batches in mix room
2. Mix/blend fragrance, coloring, wax and other materials as determined by Quality Manager
3. Trouble shoot issues with batches through understanding color theory
4. Record all color stability results on a weekly basis, informing manager of any issues
5. Maintain lab equipment as required
6. Organize and have available for use multiple wick sizes and have a general ability to determine best choice for burns given fragrance and dye details
7. Maintain and distribute updated wick lists and instructions from Quality Manager
8. Communicate to supervisor when anomalies occur during mixing in either the lab or vat room, and when materials need to be reordered
9. Meet daily goals and schedule set by supervisor
10. Follow safe workplace procedures and ensure co-workers safety
11. Perform other job-related tasks assigned by supervisor and/or management.
Education, Experience and Skills
1. High School Diploma or equivalent
2. Exceptional attention to detail and record keeping
3. Solid math skills including fractions, conversions, decimals, percentages and weights
4. Exceptional understanding of color theory and primary and secondary color combinations
5. Good interpersonal skills
